A Home Where Every Child Feels Loved and Valued
At Joy of God Orphanage, we are more than just a home—we are a family.
We provide orphaned and vulnerable children with shelter, nutritious meals, education, healthcare, and above all, love and care rooted in faith.
Our mission is to raise children in an environment filled with compassion and hope, giving them the opportunity to grow with dignity and pursue their God-given potential.
Together with our supporters, we strive to build a brighter future for every child under our care.
The Joy of God Orphanage was established on May 1st, 2019, with five children. The orphanage is located in Olasiti, Arusha, Tanzania, and is run by Sr. Janet Ngopa with the help of Fr. Andrea Ruui, Mh. Mzee Geofrey Mzee Ngonda, Mzee Ally Haji Kassim Mamobelo, and Mzee Mustafa Panju. The Joy of God Orphanage currently has twelve children. I will not forget Sister Giveness Kaaya.
The orphanage cares for and supports children and the needs of orphaned young people in Tanzania. We provide residential accommodation at the children’s home and support their needs through the Orphanage Educational program.
To help marginalized children reach their full potential through a Christ-centered, education-based home; and to help them become fruitful members of their society.
Strive to become a society where human rights — particularly children's rights — are respected. Help young people become responsible, active contributors to society, so that self-sufficient, happy adults can contribute positively to their communities.
We believe every child is unique and deserves a safe, nurturing environment. Children sleep in their own beds in shared rooms, engage in activities with other children, and celebrate birthdays together. We strive to meet their nutritional, emotional, and spiritual needs, ensuring they feel loved and supported every day.
We are committed to academic development. Children are placed in schools near the shelter or at an age-appropriate level. Some of our children have reached national testing levels, and we are proud to provide high-quality education that empowers them to succeed.
